The pre-registration window for REACH was open between 1st June 2008 and 1st December 2008. During this period companies wishing to take advantage of extended registration deadlines for their manufactured or imported substances had to pre-register their substances with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
Infineum used this period to pre-register all substances we currently import and manufacture, as well as to create pre-registrations to cover reasonably foreseeable contingencies.
Infineum carried out a major-supplier survey to confirm the pre-registration intentions of our suppliers, in order to ensure both Infineum and our customers would experience "business as usual" after the end of the pre-registration window.
Significant efforts were made to help our non-European Union (EU) customers maintain business continuity by offering an Only Representative service to cover import of their products that contain Infineum additive packages. This releases our customers from the responsibility to pre-register the substances concerned, and relieves them of the costs associated with the subsequent substance information exchange fora (SIEF’s) participation, data gathering and registration activities.
Infineum believes all necessary pre-registrations have been completed to meet our 'business as usual' target. We would like to thank our suppliers and customers for their input and support in this complicated endeavour.
