ACEA 2008 - Carefully designed for Euro V engines
Almost before the ink was dry on the 2007 revisions to the ACEA European Oil Sequences for service fill oils ACEA, ATIEL and ATC began working on the 2008 revisions to ensure lubricants deliver adequate protection to Euro V gasoline, light duty diesel and heavy-duty diesel engines. Insight examines the key changes that have been put forward as a result of this effort.
Hybrid technology and tradeoffs
The burgeoning hybrid vehicle market provides firm evidence of the efforts of the automakers to develop and promote innovative technology as a means to improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions. Insight delivers an overview of the current technology and looks at some of the possible implications for future fluid formulations.
Finishing the dish - excellent components make all the difference
In a series of three articles Insight has used a culinary analogy to explain the art and science behind Infineum’s lubricant component development. This feature, the last in the series, examines how the time and effort put into component innovation can be rewarded with the development of real life solutions for lubricant formulators.
Spotlight on diesel - Infineum's worldwide winter diesel quality survey
Insight presents the findings of the 2008 edition of Infineum's Worldwide Winter Diesel Fuel Quality Survey. The 19th edition of the survey contains data from some 356 samples collected from 39 countries, which gives a comprehensive overview of the quality of automotive diesel in the marketplace.
Tough measures on land and water
From motorboats, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, lawn mowers and weed trimmers, to mopeds, motorcycles and ATVs; small engines are subject to ever tightening emissions standards. Insight takes a look at how environmental issues are continuing to drive hardware and fluid developments in all segments of this market.
Face to Face - Renault's Rodica Faucon on fuel economy and emissions
As part of the Infineum Trends presentations Rodica Faucon, Renault's Fuels Affairs Manager, shared some of the OEM's strategies for improving fuel economy and meeting CO2 emissions requirements.
