LINDEN, NJ (March 6, 2009) - Infineum International Ltd., the global lubricant and fuel additives company, reflected on the 10th anniversary of its Joint Venture (JV) formation at the start of 1999.
Dominique Fournier, chief executive officer, attributes this success in part to a market-focused and collaborative approach that allows Infineum to number some of the worlds largest lubricant and fuel organisations among its customers. According to Fournier, "Coupled with our sustained investment in research and development as evidenced by our state-of-the-art technology centers in the UK, US, Singapore and Japan and our worldwide technical service capability, our smart solutions have helped to enable performance in todays most advanced automotive hardware systems."
Distinctive technology innovations that Infineum has delivered to the marketplace include:
- advantaged components, such as Infineum SV polymers; a unique molybdenum trimer; a novel soot dispersant; and a broad detergent slate comprising, among others, salicylates and distinguishing complex detergents
- products that are aligned with the trends of fuel economy; extended drain; and lowering of sulphur, ash, and phosphorus for crankcase applications
- continued leadership in transmission fluid chemistries that enable evolving transmission designs to deliver maximum fuel economy credits
- a middle distillate cold flow product slate that allows refiners to maximize margins across a wide range of crude sources
- treatment of the full spectrum of plant and animal fat-derived biodiesel, an area of research in which the company has been highly active since formation
Infineum has invested in a number of capital projects to support its business since inception; for example, expansions in Berre, France, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Fournier added, "We have also made a substantial investment in infrastructure modernisation, such as implementing our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that brings benefits to our supply capability. The combination of improved systems and rigorous processes has resulted in increased reliability as demonstrated by a 65% reduction in complaints over the past four years."
Fournier credits Infineum colleagues with delivering world-class results across its operations, from solutions-driven technology development and delivery to the companys outstanding industry safety performance that is consistently in the upper decile. "Without their passion, dedication and relentless effort, we simply wouldn't be who or where we are today." commented Fournier.
Infineum is embarking on its next decade with its characteristic vision, vigor and vigilance that underpin daily activities and that will give cause to future celebrations.
