In mid-February Infineum launched Infineum P5711, which meets ILSAC GF-5, the new passenger car engine oil (PCEO) performance category and the challenging new dexos™ 1 specification from General Motors.
“We are pleased to deliver Infineum P5711, our top tier full synthetic product well before the ILSAC GF-5 first allowable use date of October 1, 2010,” said Florence Thauvin, segment manager for passenger car engine oil. She added, “Infineum is a leader in top tier PCEO technology delivery in the North America region.”
General Motors (GM) will stipulate the new dexos™ 1 specification globally in factory fill and service fill applications for its 2011 model year and later vehicles. Formulating to meet dexos™ 1, a unique combination of the most demanding API, ACEA and GM power train tests, represents a significant investment by Infineum in a collaborative effort with GM. The specification will ensure gasoline engine protection for worldwide GM fleets.
Infineum P5711 is the first of many products that Infineum will introduce for ILSAC GF-5 in North America, Japan, China and other parts of the world.
