LINDEN, NEW JERSEY (May 26, 2010)
Infineum USA L.P. was recently honored for the extraordinary support the company provides to employees who serve in the NJ National Guard and Reserve. The recognition, which consisted of a “My Boss is a Patriot” award and an American flag, was presented by the New Jersey Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense. The flag was carried during a combat mission over Iraq in a UH-60A Blackhawk helicopter piloted by Chief Warrent Officer (CWO) Anthony “Tony” Giano, an Infineum employee who is a member of the 1st Battalion 150th Aviation Regiment Task Force Vandal. Command Sergeant Major (CSM) (Retired) Arthur Maggs, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) (Retired) Theodore J. Bassman and Colonel (Col) (Retired) Dennis J. Dougherty also attended on behalf of the ESGR.
Mr. Giano, a shift supervisor at Infineum’s Bayway Chemical Plant who was in Iraq from December 2008 to April 2010, his third tour, nominated Infineum and his manager for the outstanding support provided to him during the time he was deployed, the support to his family and the National Guard and Reserve Service. “I wanted to recognize Infineum for giving me the piece of mind that my family would be taken care of while I was away,” he stated.
“We at Infineum are grateful for the services of our armed forces and also very thankful that Tony has returned to us safely,” said John Englishman, Infineum’s Bayway Chemical plant manager.
ESGR established the “My Boss is a Patriot” award to publicly recognize American employers who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who, like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.
