Infineum is honored as one of industry's best

6/14/2010  - Linden, NJ (June 14, 2010)

Infineum’s hard work and continued success in achieving extremely high standards in the areas of safety, health, environment, product stewardship, security, distribution safety, emergency preparedness and community outreach has been recognized with the American Chemistry Council’s highest honor, the Responsible Care® Company of the Year Award, in the medium-size company. ACC presented the award to Infineum at the Council’s 138th Annual Banquet on June 8 in Colorado Springs, Co.

To be eligible for the Company of the Year Award, a company must perform in the top ten percent of its size category in employee safety during the past three years, have zero significant process safety incidents in the past year, and utilize best practices in communications with its communities and key stakeholders, among others, at the local, regional and national levels. Winning companies are selected by an independent review panel on the basis of both quantitative and qualitative measures that demonstrate sustained performance excellence over time.

Infineum’s commitment to the Responsible Care ethic drives multiple activities with its employees, customers, local communities and other stakeholders. Employees participate in numerous behavioral-based safety observation programs, which allow them to increase their awareness and eliminate at-risk behaviors.

“We are proud to be recognized with ACC’s 2010 Responsible Care Company of the Year Award; this is a nice addition to the many awards Infineum has received since its formation in 1999. This is the third year in a row that Infineum is honored with the ACC’s highest recognition. In 2008, Infineum was recognized with the Responsible Care Leadership Award and, in 2009, with the Responsible Care Sustained Excellence Award,” said Liz Garcia, Infineum USA L.P.’s public affairs and Responsible Care manager.
