Our team in Singapore recently demonstrated their commitment to sustainability by taking part in the One Million Trees movement, planting 50 trees along Woodlands Road. The tree planting event, held on 20 September, was attended by nearly 60 employees from our Singapore Plant and Business Technology Centre.

Infineum Singapore started taking part in the tree planting event in 2015 to celebrate Singapore’s Golden Jubilee year (SG50). Then in 2022, after the COVID-19 pandemic, they all decided to continue this valuable environmental work and this year has been no exception.

John Hong, Infineum’s Asia Pacific Sales Director & Country Head of Singapore, says, “Our annual tree planting effort in Singapore provides the dual benefit of furthering our corporate purpose to create a sustainable future as well as visibly contributing to Singapore’s ‘One million trees movement’. We believe that the trees we plant each year will bring many benefits to the environment we work and live in. I believe that Singapore colleagues feel the same way too, given the high colleague turnout for every tree planting event

One month later, our community engagement team in Singapore revisited the saplings that were planted in 2015 and 2022. It was gratifying to know that the trees are thriving, and the saplings planted 8 years ago have now grown into towering trees beyond 7 meters!

See the before and after comparison in the short clip here.

It is heartwarming to see the colleagues’ overwhelming responses to this event! In 15 years, colleagues will be able to see their saplings transformed into trees, a very visible contribution to the environment!” said Yap Seok Chen, Infineum’s Global Controls & Risk Manager and responsible for community engagement locally.
