Infineum CEO, Trevor Russell has been named as the Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year at the inaugural 2017 F&L Awards, for his ‘outstanding contribution to the Fuels & Lubricants industry in the region’.
Trevor was chosen as the winner by F+L Week’s independent Conference Advisory Board after reviewing the achievements of a number of other renowned nominees. Acknowledgement was made to his leadership role in expanding manufacturing and supply capability for petroleum additives in the Asia Pacific region.
Vicky Villena-Denton, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of F&L Asia, commented: “Trevor has over 35 years’ experience in the additives industry and is the mastermind behind Infineum’s growth strategy in the Asian region. I couldn’t think of a worthier recipient of this outstanding award.”
Trevor has been a member of Infineum’s senior leadership team since the organisation formed in 1999, holding global VP positions in sales, marketing, supply and strategy. In 2013, he moved to Singapore to concentrate his attention on overseeing a period of significant investment in Asia Pacific, before being appointed as Infineum’s CEO in July 2016.
During his time in Singapore, Trevor has overseen the establishment of two Chinese wholly foreign owned enterprises, Infineum (China) Co., Ltd at Zhangjiagang and Infineum (Shanghai) Additives Co. Ltd; the opening of the first salicylate plant of its kind in Asia Pacific at Jurong Island in Singapore; and establishment of Infineum’s first wholly owned India enterprise - Infineum India Additives Private Limited (IIAPL), based in Mumbai.
Trevor Russell said: “Asia Pacific is a strong priority for Infineum and during my time here I have seen the region really become an engine of industry growth. To have been recognised with this Award by Fuels&Lubes Asia is a real honour. In Asia Pacific, Infineum has invested in both manufacturing assets and technology capability, in support of our relentless drive towards supporting our customers with Technology Leadership, underpinned by leading Supply Reliability. But, more importantly, we have invested in the attraction and development of local talent right across the region and we are delighted with the strength of our workforce here. I feel fortunate to have played a role, along with many others in our organisation, in delivering both capabilities and growth in Asia Pacific."
Dr. Selda Gunsel, Head of Product Management, Shell, presented the award to Trevor during a special ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore, as part of F+L Week 2017.
