ILSAC GF-5 – Still on Track but There is Work to be Done

Efforts to develop ILSAC GF-5, which is scheduled to serve as the basis
for the next generation passenger car specification and licensing use
of the API Starburst Certification Mark, have been moving steadily forward
during 2007. This new specification is scheduled to be deployed in mid-
to late 2010. A Consortium developing a new Sequence VID fuel efficiency
test – critical for the timely completion of this effort –
is making steady progress and is targeting completion by mid-2008.
