Infineum USA Receives High Honors for its
Industrial Safety Record
On July 11th, Infineum USA L.P. and its employees were honored
for their excellence in safety performance during the first half
of 2002.
At a celebratory breakfast, Infineum employees gathered to be recognized
by supervisors and government officials for their outstanding effort
in safety practices. So far in 2002, numerous state and national
organizations have recognized the Infineum USA L.P. Linden sites
for their outstanding safety record.
One of the highlights of the event was a letter of recognition
and a personal note from Congressman Mike Ferguson, 7th district,
which were presented by Ronie Desmond, the congressman's project
manager. The letter and note were in complement to the Governor's
Awards and the numerous departmental awards of merit from the New
Jersey State Department of Labor received earlier this year. In
his note, the congressman thanked Infineum employees for the "leadership
and service you provide to our country" and to the "Models
of Safety Health Act of 2001."
The Governor's Award is the highest award bestowed by the New Jersey
State Department of Labor. This award is given to a company or facility
for working four consecutive calendar years without lost time from
a work-related injury or illness. Infineum employees have completed
over four million hours without a lost time injury.
Other awards highlighted at the event were the Responsible Care®
Employee Health & Safety Code certificates of excellence for
2001 awarded by the American Chemistry Council, a national trade
organization.
