Position Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Inspector for the Fixed Equipment Reliability Section at the Bayway Chemical Plant. The Fixed Equipment Reliability Section is responsible for the long-term safety and reliability of plant fixed equipment.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

• Responsible for development and execution of inspection programs that ensure the long-term safety and reliability of fixed equipment. This is accomplished through the use of routine monitoring programs, periodic internal and external inspections, and non-destructive examination.
• Monitors the execution of mechanical work in progress to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and job specific requirements.
• Verifies that the proper procedures, materials, qualified personnel and acceptable conditions are used for mechanical work.
• Responsible for performing outside shop inspection during the fabrication, maintenance, repair, or alteration of fixed equipment to ensure compliance with the manufacturer’s quality control plan and purchase order specifications.
• Responsible for maintenance of equipment files.
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned

A successful candidate is likely to have:

Mandatory Skills & Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 10 years minimum of relevant work experience.
• Fundamental written and verbal communication skills.
• Fundamental computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP R/3.
• Working knowledge of API 510, 570, 576, 650 and 653, ASME VIII and IX, and ANSI/ASME B31.3.
• Basic corrosion and metallurgy knowledge.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Basic understanding of chemical processes.

Desired Skills & Experience:
• Current certifications
   - AWS-CWI
   - API 510, 570, & 653
• Current or previous certifications
   - ASNT, SNT-TC-1A, NDE Level 1
          *Radiography Testing (RT)
          *Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
   - ASNT, SNT-TC-1A, NDE Level 2
          *Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
          *Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
          *Visual and Optical Testing (VT)
