The Import/Export Site Logistic coordinator is part of the North America Operation Logistic Team, reporting to the North America Operation Logistic leader. This role is responsible to ensure that operational logistics activities in North America are performed efficiently meet agreed KPIs and functional goals, steward 3rd party performance and address issues. The Import/Export Site Logistic coordinator also interfaces with other Supply functions, Procurement and Sales colleagues.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you
  • Serve as focal point for all assigned operations logistics activities, including but not limited to, Sales Orders, STO’s, Imports, shipment costing and Freight Forwarder contact.
  • Serve as a main focal point for Shipment Costing Controls analysis and various vendor invoice management, payables process
  • Responsible for analysing and optimizing extra costs associated with the import/export operational logistics process (e.g. Demurrage).
  • Close interface with origin and destination points outside of NA to ensure shipment schedules can be and are met, and assess the impact of shipment delays on customers or operations.
  • Liaise with 3rd party service providers to ensure that transportation is available to meet on-time shipment and delivery targets.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot logistic issues before they turn into late deliveries.
    • Using 3rd party track and trace software (or other information sources), proactively identify potential late deliveries, analyse the impact and propose solutions to minimise customer impact.
    • Act as liaison to customer service for shipment tracking
  • Actively support the SLL for import/export 3rd party performance management reviews and/or lead such reviews.
  • Support customer complaint investigations, recommend and ensure preventive measures at 3rd party vendors are implemented and effective to meet the CPI corporate goal.
  • Ensure logistics services are in compliance with internal and external business processes and regulatory requirements, including control reports.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with relevant internal functions, primarily Manufacturing, Sales, SCA, and Procurement organizations.
  • Lead and ensure timely implementation of Management of Change (MoC).
  • Support special projects as assigned.
  • Back up of domestic SLC roles for NA sites.
  • Support Ad Hoc projects as assigned by management.
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned.
A successful candidate is likely to have:
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in manufacturing, supply chain logistics operations or equivalent operation experience is preferred
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP required
  • “Hands On” experience with digital industry tools such as a Transportation Management System (TMS) is a definite plus
  • Knowledge of the operations logistics industry is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in the chemicals industry would be a plus
