Position Summary:

The Analyst position is an integral part of the Procurement organisation, partnering with the Category and Sourcing Leaders of all three clusters, Raw Materials, Indirect and Services, and Logistics. The role resides within the Procurement Centre of Expertise.

What you will be doing:
  • Locate, compile, analyse, and organise all relevant spend data to meet category objectives. This includes a complete understanding of spend (historic, baseline, forecast) in accordance with the category’s supply base and business projections. Compare data from multiple sources to draw conclusions with proven ability to format and present findings in a clear, logical, and presentable manner.
  • Locate and organise category and sub-category supplier contracts, understanding contract terms to aid in opportunity assessment.
  • Perform category supplier landscape analysis, inclusive of understanding existing supply base and the respective historic performance.
  • Perform ongoing sub-category market research to ensure a clear understanding of the full supplier landscape and the relationships between their capabilities and our business requirements.
  • Support the RFx process aligned with category strategy goals, which includes but is not limited to: decision/evaluation criteria, response analysis, negotiation analysis, and supplier selection.
  • Take action to identify, analyse and improve existing processes within the Category Management organisation to maximize opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness and meet new goals and objectives.
  • Proactively monitor and analyse performance and trends within category in order to identify and highlight issues and opportunities that support the business.  
  • Act as interface between the Procurement and Finance functions with regards to quantifying financial benefits, creating, maintaining, updating savings reporting (actuals, projection, deviation analysis).
  • Contribute to the development of improved strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Support category leaders in evaluating high impact cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and management.

A successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Relevant work experience in combination with a relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced analytical skills which include the ability to refine, manufacture, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data and present impactful insights.
  • Proven ability to communicate and/or present information logically and clearly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement operations and the strategic sourcing process.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines that require frequent communication, organisation/time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record for working effectively in a team environment and cultivating strong internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to guickly gain and apply knowledge, understanding and skills and actively participate in learning experiences.
  • Strong quantitative background.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, digital / e-procurement tools, structured data e.g. SQL, familiarity with a data visualisation tool e.g. Tableau or PowerBI, a scripting language (either Python or R)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Previous experience highly desirable with:
    • category analysis
    • strategic sourcing process
    • preparation of fact-based analyses for supplier negotiation documents.
    • raw material price formula modelling and analysis.
