Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be working in a team with 3 other Lab Technicians focusing on blending and testing diesel fuels in various ASTM tests. Candidate will also be participating in technical trouble-shooting activities, new product development, and safety initiatives. This position will primarily interface with Lab Supervisor, Technical Leader, and Technical Sales team.

This is a Union position.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

• “Safety First” mentality - Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and adherence to all safety protocols.
• Proactively contribute to an actively caring safety culture

• Ability to understand and execute written operational and test procedures.
• Follow documentation and recordkeeping requirements.

Lab Operation
• Treat diesel fuels with additives and conduct testing
• Assist with sample movement management – incoming and outgoing
• Exceptional housekeeping practices. Understanding of 5S concept is a plus.

Perform other duties as assigned

A successful candidate is likely to have:
• A degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant science (e.g. chemistry, biochemistry, etc) or 2+ years’ experience in a Lab Technician role.
• An outstanding team player with excellent interpersonal skill
• Excellent communication skills – oral & written
• Good general understanding of laboratory equipment and lab operation
• Strong general computer skills (MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proactive approach – will take ownership of issues and work to a successful resolution
• Rigorous approach to working safely, including procedural and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work and run projects independently and minimal supervision.
• High level of attention to detail.
