Position Summary:

In general, this position is responsible for managing the process safety and risk assessment programs for capital projects within a large manufacturing facility, including compliance with all pertinent State and Federal regulations.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you
• Responsible for Bayway capital project process safety analyses , reviews and corrective recommendations, and compliance with pertinent NJ State (Toxic Catastrophe Prevention Act) and Federal (OSHA Process Safety Management and Risk Management Program) Regulations.
• Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), risk assessments, and Layer of Protection Analyses (LOPA).
• Review process designs and management of change requests to ensure compliance with safety engineering standards.
• Facilitate training and mentoring of younger engineers on safety engineering technology and systems required to manage site risks and plant changes.
• Develop dispersion analyses to evaluate consequence and assess risk due to potential HC and EHS substance releases.
• Support process and project engineers and unit supervisors on process safety issues,
• Responsible for all projected related process Safety related tasks as outlined in Infineum’s Project Development and Execution Procedures (IMPACT)
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations including successful performance on audits.
• Model emergency release scenarios and assist in emergency response planning.
• Provide support to manufacturing HSSE organization as needed.
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned

A successful candidate is likely to have:
• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
• 5-10 years’ experience in Process Design and Safety Engineering, preferably in manufacturing sites
• Experience in process safety technology, PSM regulatory compliance, and programs to drive improvement.
• Process simulation and dispersion modelling software knowledge a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & risk assessments required
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
