Position Summary:

Product Stewardship & Regulatory Compliance (PSRC) is about understanding, controlling and communicating a product's environmental, health and safety related effects throughout its lifecycle from development, through to manufacture and final disposal. The role of Product Stewardship Advisor will appeal to candidates with a keen interest to develop detailed knowledge of the vast array of chemical regulations and compliance obligations that influence Infineum’s commercial product offering and future new product development. The position will support PSRC at the interface with numerous other functions, including Technology, Supply & Logistics, Manufacturing plants, Global & regional HSE, Customer Service, key customer account managers, Law, and Procurement.

The successful candidate will be a member of the PSRC team, a diverse, multidisciplinary team within Infineum’s global Sales & Supply organization. The position reports to the Global Product Stewardship Manager and has primary responsibility for monitoring and maintaining chemical regulatory compliance in the Americas region, but extending to other regulatory regimes in EU and AP. The primary IT system is the EHS module of SAP.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

• Accountability for maintaining chemical regulatory compliance in the Americas (Canada, USA, Mexico & Latin American countries)
• Responsibility for completing regulatory reporting requirements in designated regions (e.g. US TSCA, Canadian Environmental Protection Act, emerging schemes in Latin Americas)
• Supporting other colleagues in the global team to meet local regulatory compliance requirements
• Monitor, summarize and communicate regional regulatory developments in support of the departments’ peer-led Regulatory Network
• Track regulatory changes, conduct impact analyses and develop compliance strategies according to Infineum’s Management of Change procedure
• Support new product development activities, including country-specific substance notifications
• Engagement and resolution of internal business and external customer enquiries
• Update PSRC business processes to ensure regulatory compliance
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned

What skills will you gain from this role?

• Broad knowledge of, and involvement with, Infineum’s commercial and operational activities (e.g. technology development, supply chain, sales and marketing)
• Knowledge and experience in the growing area of global chemical regulations and their implementation across the range of Infineum’s businesses
• Technical expertise within SAP (specifically the SAP EHS module)
• Valuable skills such as dealing with change (e.g. through evolving guidance to finalised legislation, coordinating regulatory capacity to accommodate changes within Infineum operations and manufacturing)
• Develop networking skills, both across the Infineum organisation and with PSRC contacts within our customer organisations.

A successful candidate is likely to have:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience). A strong organic chemistry background would be an advantage.
• Enthusiasm and motivation to develop new skills and knowledge in complex and growing field of Regulatory Affairs
• Awareness of the general impact of chemical regulatory requirements on Infineum’s business and operations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and good judgement in interpreting complex situations
• Basic understanding of the GHS for classification of hazardous chemicals would be an advantage
• Some familiarity with SAP would be an advantage
• Familiarity working with large databases and good IT literacy with attention to detail
• Ability to manage own workload priorities and take initiative
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to communicate and influence effectively including experience of presenting and justifying recommendations to stakeholders
