Position Summary:  

This Technologist role will be diverse, engaging and challenging, with the responsibility of working on projects within Product Development, Customer Technical Services, and IAC. As Lubes Technologist, you will be joining our Lubes Technology team responsible both for the development of the next generation of lubes additives products and for providing technical support to our lubricant’s customers. You will have an opportunity to experience the end-to-end product process: starting from product formulation for the next generation of additives technology and extending to lubes customers’ technical support.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

  • Lead & execute technology projects within Product Development, Customer Technical Services, and IAC
  • Actively participate in the development and commercialization of new products in collaboration with Marketing and Industry Liaison
  • Provide technical support for Lubes products for the assigned customers and/or product lines.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing colleagues to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with customers in a fast-paced changing environment to plan, execute, deliver and document products claims to deliver on customer needs.
  • Plan, execute, and document testing programs to provide customer specific solutions.
  • Support strategic OEMs, understand industry drivers and emerging hardware technologies to proactively identify opportunities yielding competitive advantage to Infineum
  • Work collaboratively within the team and with colleagues throughout Infineum
  • Any other additional responsibilities as assigned

  • Commercial understanding and technical insights, including a broader understanding of the additives industry drivers and their consequences on hardware and products requirements

A successful candidate is likely to have:

  • A technical background (BS or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and/or Material Sciences.
  • Technical communication skills (written, verbal and graphic). Ability to develop compelling technical arguments and transmit them with knowledge and confidence.
  • Interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills across functions and regions.
  • Attention to detail, ability to think logically, and apply different tactics to solve problems using resources available internally and externally.
  • Capacity to efficiently balance priorities and make independent and timely decisions.
  • Work experience in cross-functional or global projects is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external customers is a plus
  • Knowledge of the lubricants industry, lubricant formulation, or related technology development activities would be advantageous
  • Ability to lead and execute projects
  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams, collaborate and influence others
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity, taking a flexible approach when needed information is limited by external circumstances
  • Commitment and passion for turning scientific knowledge into a performance enhancing end product
