Throughout May, Infineum colleagues demonstrated their compassion and generosity by donating $690,000 to a wide range of charities around the world.

Covid-19 has caused extraordinary global disruption, with the charitable sector hit especially hard. Many charities are having to deliver additional services, to the most vulnerable in society, with fewer volunteers and staff members, at a time when traditional fundraising activities are simply not an option. This series of articles highlights how Infineum colleagues support their local communities and make a real difference to the quality of people’s lives.

For the last part of this series, the spotlight is on Milton Hill (MH) Site Manager Bobby Patel, who came up with an idea that was a cut above many to support Infineum’s Covid-19 charity initiative.

With his beloved shark fin hair style growing unchecked during lockdown (see right), and the necessary quantities of gel required to tame it becoming too costly, Bobby decided drastic action was required - a grade 2 all over!

To soften the blow, he asked MH colleagues to sponsor the big snip in aid of Sewa UK, a charity close to his heart, which is doing a lot to support Covid-19 initiatives. And, of course, the added bonus of matching from Infineum to go to three global Covid-19 supporting charities.

The attraction of witnessing Bobby go fin-less via live streaming, at the same time as raising money for such worthwhile charities, proved to be a big draw for generous site colleagues.

After a safety moment by Bobby’s son Aaron, his wife Sheetal did the deed (see left).

Bobby smashed his original target of £251, by raising £1,605, making a grand total of £3,210 for charity after it was matched by Infineum.

I’m glad to say “No Bobbys Got Hurt” during this event which was my biggest concern especially after Sheetal mentioned she had not used the clippers before,

                                                        said a relieved Bobby.

I’m truly humbled by the encouragement and support the MH community have given me throughout and your kind donations.
