Process Control Systems Engineer is a full-time position that combines engineering, manufacturing, systems and programming skills to support and improve evergreen values of Infineum Manufacturing: operational reliability, efficiency, process improvement and human error reduction. This subject matter expert role requires collaboration with Bayway Operations Team, Global Cybersecurity Team and third-party hardware and software vendors to ensure reliable and safe execution of systems and applications. The candidate will be a key part of the Process Control Modernization projects which move today at a fast pace as cybersecurity, Big Data, and the Industrial Internet of Things gain importance. The candidate shall be able to work in self-directed as well as collaborative environments, recognizing urgency of issues impacting operational processes while working toward longer-term goals.

Key Outputs: What we can expect from you

 

 

Act as a site owner of the Process Control Domain, managing its policies per Cybersecurity Framework

Act as a custodian of the Bayway Process Control System and its Network by providing day-to-day oversight of the system’s functions and security and ensuring reliable functioning of all its components

Ensure compliance to the Cybersecurity Framework by overseeing contractors performing work on the system, controlling removable media and computers, continuously improving network architecture and ensuring log collection amongst other elements

Assisting Global Security Operating Center to coordinate with the plant Operations to deploy cybersecurity gap closure solutions

Lead hardware improvements and troubleshooting including servers, fiber cables, network switches, keyboards and monitors, printers, paging system, video cameras, thin clients, and GPS time server.

Lead software improvements and troubleshooting including Process and Regulatory data collection, AIM Historian, ASPEN InfoPlus21, unit, Wonderware InBatch, Paging System, and Custom Supply Chain Automation scripts

Act as a focal point for Schneider Electric Maintenance Agreement which covers service for Foxboro, Triconex and Modicon systems

Work closely with Operations, Application Engineers and vendors to plan for application of system patches, hot fixes, vulnerability scans and then restoring all the systems and processes to their full functionality

Conduct periodic integrity checks for Process Control equipment power supplies, control processors and analyze their performance to continuously drive improvements

Participate in site investigations, self-assessments, risk assessments, and audits providing information evidence of the local compliance to cybersecurity requirements.

• Manage Obsolescence Plan for the system

Act as an automation subject matter expert in the development and implementation of Manufacturing projects ensuring that they are employing the most fitting systems solutions

Support the development and execution and in some cases lead Process Control Modernization projects and Local Cybersecurity Gap Closure Projects

Train Process Technicians, Console Leaders, Instrumentation Technicians, Junior Engineers, and Supervisors on the use of the process control computer and related computer applications

 

 Understand fundamentals of cybersecurity, data managements and the Industrial Internet of Things

 

Support the initiatives of the Global Process Control Community of Practice, Global SIS Community of Practice and Global Security Operating Center

 

Provide off-hour support, weekend standby duty, and backfill coverage, as needed

A successful candidate is likely to have:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of industrial systems engineering or other relevant industrial skillset
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Computer, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Innovative and enthusiastic about new technology
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, come knowledge of Unix/Linux (a plus)
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Understanding of batch and continuous process plant operations
• Experience with cybersecurity applications including McAffee, Solarwinds, GFI (a plus)
• Experience with Foxboro DCS (a plus)
• Experience with Modicon PLCs (a plus)
• Knowledge of PLC programming (a plus)
• Experience with Project Management (a plus)
• Attention to detail, clear and concise communication skills, self-directed and proactive, strong
team player
• Ability to interact with several levels of the organization
