The EU Lubes Industrial Liaison Manager is a member of the global Industrial Liaison (IL) Leadership team which develops IL strategy as part of overall corporate strategy, and specifically for the EU, drives implementation of IL strategy for lubricants and sets OEM goals from short to long term. The role also involves providing line management to a geographically diverse IL team, including leadership and development. The successful candidate will own EU specification strategy and be a key external interface of IL strategy with EU OEMs.

Key Accountabilities

 

Line Management

  • Responsible for the line management of a team of experienced expert contributors
  • Develops and coaches team to high performance, both as individuals and as a group
  • Develops and builds sustainable IL resourcing model
    OEM and Business Strategy Implementation)
  • Working inside the EU within industry trade associations or directly with OEMs, strives to achieve desired Infineum IL outcomes aligned with business and/or OEM  strategies
  • Provides input to business on OEM wants/needs, both technical and commercial 
  • Develops, maintains and ensures appropriate implementation of the OEM prioritisation model

Influence and Persuasion

  • High level of personal ethics and integrity, to ensure Infineum and legal values are never compromised
  • Builds strong personal relationships with key decision makers in EU OEMs and industry trade associations, in order to maximise leverage and influence in achieving Infineum goals
  • Personally operates within, or oversees, senior level industry trade body representation (eg. ATC), including development and implementation of negotiation tactics
  • Acts as a champion of OEM relationship activities within appropriate business teams
  • Works with key OEMs and industry trade associations on topics of strategic significance

Competitive assessment

  • Monitors and assesses competitive behaviour in industry and feeds back into wider organisation with proposed responses, in line with legal and Infineum anti-trust requirements

A successful candidate is likely to have

  • Customer relationship management skills – well-networked at the OEMs, in industry trade associations and with major strategic customers
  • Experience of leading a large, geographically-spread, global team
  • Some technical formulation knowledge and/or an engineering background for credibility with OEMs will be highly desirable
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills, both internally and externally, through strong personal relationships and effective communication
