Working in the Fuels team of Manufacturing Technology (MFT) promises to be very exciting. We work closely with other functions such as Technology, Procurement and Manufacturing to deliver projects in strategic areas such as supply security and cost containment. This position reports to the Fuels Manufacturing Technology Manager and responsibilities span from supporting/improving existing operations to commercializing new products and processes. The successful candidate will primarily work in the Middle Distillate Flow Improvers and Lubricity Improver (LI) products. The learning will be applied to improve process control and speedier 2nd suppliers’ approval. However, Process Technologists are expected to broaden their skills by undertaking activities in different areas as high priority projects emerge.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Support existing manufacturing operations at Koln. This includes project reviews, plant trials and approval of new suppliers
  • Lead high priority cross-functional projects
  • Interface with Technology and the plants to improve processes and with Procurement to improve supply security and reduce cost of raw materials
  • Facilitate the knowledge transfer in Fuels MFT

A successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Excellent technical competencies with a strong science background and the ability to understand the fundamental chemistry and engineering of our processes
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential to this position
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently, balancing priorities and making independent and timely decisions
  • Manufacturing plant experience is desirable but not essential
  • Project management and leadership experience would be an advantage
