Infineum colleagues capture the true spirit of the festive season

Community Outreach - 11 1 月 2021

Colleagues have continued the work of Infineum’s Covid-19 charitable initiative in 2020, by spreading joy during a festive season heavily impacted by the global pandemic.

Our 2025 Corporate Sustainability Goal of ‘delivering positive impact in the communities in which we operate’ was brought to life by colleagues across the globe. They cancelled their annual festive celebrations, choosing to donate money to local charities to help those less fortunate.

In the UK, the community outreach team donated £35,000 to local charity The Porch, who will develop their new facilities where they provide support and meals to vulnerably-housed people.

Colleagues also wore Christmas clothing during a virtual meeting, to raise money for Save the Children.

In Italy, a donation was made to two charities, Eunike and Cresci, who both help children in need.

In Singapore, a $12,000 donation, including a $2,000 personal contribution from a long service award, was made to the Home Nursing Foundation (HNF). The donation will help isolated patients in need of medical supplies, equipment and essential groceries. The Tote Board matched Infineum’s donation, so HNF have received $24,000 in total.

In the USA, as well as donating celebration funds to ten nominated charities, colleagues took part in a host of other holiday activities. They supported ‘Project North Pole’ in aid of Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), donated toys to the ‘Toys for Tots’ campaign and supported the Salvation Army by donating to their kettle drive and filling 25 gift bags with items from a child’s wish list as part of the ‘Be an Angel’ campaign.

In China a ‘Christmas themed’ auction was held with 90 items donated by colleagues. This raised over $5,000 for causes protecting vulnerable children and the environment.

In Brazil non-perishable food and toys were collected to support patients at Nossa Senhora do Loreto Hospital.

In Cologne colleagues filled shoeboxes with useful items for the Straßenwächter organisation to distribute to homeless people during their city walk-throughs.

These acts of kindness clearly demonstrate how much Infineum colleagues care about their local communities.
