The #InfineumCARES monthly series spotlights the volunteering efforts of colleagues from our sites around the world, as part of our ambition of supporting people and communities.
Colleagues at our Cologne site recently came together as a team to refurbish Therapy Centre Bonn, a residential community in Bonn, Germany.
The centre offers various living arrangements for people with complex disabilities, with its activities aiming to support individual well-being and social participation, while strengthening competencies for independent living.
Cologne colleagues lent their helping hands for much-needed maintenance work to revitalise the residents’ living environment.
Working together, they spent the day completing various tasks around the facility such as brightening garden tables and garages with fresh coats of paint, assembling new furniture and laying down electrical wiring.
Colleagues also got to know the residents of the therapy centre better over lunch, where everyone had a pleasant time eating and chatting together. With the team’s commitment and joint effort, they completed all tasks by the end of the day.
Sabrina Sohns, HR Manager at our Cologne site, says “The gratitude and light-heartedness of everyone at the therapy centre touched all of our hearts. The day full of laughter and supporting one another through our tasks also brought colleagues from different departments closer together. This volunteering experience helped many of us understand what truly matters in life.”
Infineum actively encourages our colleagues to give back to their local communities through volunteering. For more information about Infineum’s sustainability initiatives, please visit: https://www.infineum.com/sustainability/.
