The #InfineumCARES monthly series spotlights the volunteering efforts of colleagues from our sites around the world, as part of our ambition of supporting people and communities.

Colleagues from our Singapore site collaborated with Singapore Polytechnic to organise a community carnival, bringing joy to 80 seniors at Fei Yue Active Ageing Centre.

The event kicked off with seniors taking part in a variety of cherished childhood games familiar to many Singaporeans, such as tic-tac-toe and pick-up sticks at game stations set up by 50 Chemical Engineering student volunteers from Singapore Polytechnic and Infineum colleagues.

Other activities included a nostalgic singalong session in local dialect, along with a lucky draw which added a touch of excitement and fostered closer bonds across the different generations.

Our Singapore site is a longtime community partner of Fei Yue, a non-profit organisation supporting the needy across all ages in the local community, with our colleagues actively volunteering in outreach initiatives for Fei Yue’s beneficiaries.

To support Infineum’s ambition to inspire future STEM talent, our colleagues have also collaborated with Singapore Polytechnic over the past few years to organise career fairs, STEM sharing sessions, and internships for students. This event added a meaningful element of community engagement to the partnership, while enabling colleagues to share their experiences in the specialty chemicals industry with students.

Caroline Ng, Global Process Owner, says “We were very glad to participate in this rewarding experience, which brought warmth and smiles both to the seniors and volunteers. We also enjoyed teaming up with the Singapore Polytechnic students, who did a great job at planning carnival games and engaging with the seniors. It was heartening to see how everyone, regardless of age, can play a part in giving back to the community.”
