Carl Howard

EVP Corporate Governance & Responsibility and Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

In his role as EVP Corporate Governance & Responsibility and Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, Carl is accountable for the Infineum Group’s Legal, Compliance, HSSE, Sustainability, and Inclusion functions and strategies, with a focus on identifying and managing enterprise-wide legal risks, implementing compliance frameworks to ensure adherence with applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards, maintaining a robust safety culture and performance, and delivering a more sustainable and inclusive organisation.

Carl also serves as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors and is a member of Infineum’s executive committee.

Carl has more than 25 years of experience in the lubricant additives industry (all with Infineum), holding various legal department roles before becoming General Counsel in 2012 and also engaging in various non-legal activities including leading change management aspects of Infineum’s transformation to becoming a world-class specialty chemicals company.

Prior to joining Infineum, Carl was an Associate at the international law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP, serving as outside legal counsel to corporate clients from various industries on a range of legal matters.

Carl holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
