Challenges in the production, transportation and storage of crude oils include wax settling along with asphaltene instability and deposition. Left untreated, they can form deposits in production lines, pipelines and refinery storage and cause fouling within the refinery – which can reduce productivity, throughput and delivered volumes while also increasing maintenance costs.
