Tell us about your career journey at Infineum so far

“I joined Infineum after completing my master’s degree in Organic Chemistry. My first role was as a Fuels Development Chemist. Here, the learning curve was steep. I enhanced my chemical knowledge as well as learning the workings of an internal combustion engine, and more about critical manufacturing processes.

Within the same group, I was promoted to Technologist and developed and deployed diesel performance additives globally. This role had a good balance of R&D, and interactions with OEMs, industry bodies and oil marketers. During this time, I completed a short assignment in the US - which was a great cultural experience, and I learnt a lot about how business is conducted in different regions. I then worked on a high-profile project as Fuels Project Manager.

After nine years within the Fuels function, I moved to a team called Rapid Response which collaborates with technical teams across Infineum. This was my first introduction to engine oil lubricants which encouraged me to broaden my technical capabilities.

I then decided to move to Sales as the Regional Market Manager in EMEA. Working very closely with technology, I interacted with our customers to set strategies and assess future market needs. I then moved to a brief role as Team Leader in Product Development.

An exciting role came up in our Business Transformation team, working cross-functionally to deliver our transformation ambition of becoming a sustainable world-class specialty chemicals company. This was a fast paced an exciting team which I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of.

More recently, I work as Technology, Applications and Services Manager, which is very different to all my previous roles here. My team offers safe, timely and quality services to enable project delivery across several key technology areas and stakeholders at Infineum. The breadth of my career to date has equipped me with the skills needed to ensure safety remains the number one priority and we are able to deliver in an agile manner to our customers.”
