Colleagues at our Milton Hill site have been supporting the efforts of RSPCA Oxfordshire, an animal charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming small domestic animals suffering from neglect and mistreatment. This included raising over 400 pounds to support the charity’s efforts.
In July, a team from RSPCA Oxfordshire came to the Milton Hill site to promote awareness on the type of animals under their care, as well as how our colleagues could be involved to support the charity through fostering, volunteering and raising funds. They were joined by Lorraine Ashton and Liz Csiszar, System Specialists, Jane Coleman, Technical Support Assistant, and Michelle Yacomen, MFFT and PSRC Lead Team Administrator.
Lorraine says “It was a lovely event with lots of engagement from colleagues. It is always great to feel like you are making a difference.”
Several volunteering sessions for colleagues were also held at the Paws & Claws Rabbit Centre, run by RSPCA Oxfordshire, which served as a rescue centre for abused and neglected rabbits.
The volunteers worked together to lay the groundwork for the installation of new rabbit pens. These pens will serve as a safe haven for rescued rabbits awaiting adoption.
Zoe Ludwig-Tantrum, Service Desk & Deskside System Lead, had initially volunteered for a half-day session, but had enjoyed her experience so much that she returned for another session. She took part in ground clearing and broke up old rabbit hutches in preparation for new hutches to be delivered.
Zoe says “Volunteering at Paws and Claws was a revelation. It combined my love for animals, the joy of outdoor work, and the satisfaction of supporting a local charity I hadn’t known existed. The teamwork with fellow Infineum volunteers was inspiring. I regret not volunteering sooner and urge everyone to seize these opportunities. Helping a worthy cause feels incredible and is a lot of fun. I am excited for the next opportunity to do so!”
Infineum actively encourages our colleagues to give back to their local communities through volunteering. For more information about Infineum’s sustainability initiatives, please visit: https://www.infineum.com/sustainability/.
