Infineum’s Vado Ligure site in Italy has achieved ISCC PLUS certification under the Mass Balance approach. This marks a significant milestone in Infineum’s sustainability journey and reinforces our commitment to delivering lower-carbon solutions across the lubricants value chain.

ISCC PLUS is a globally recognised certification system that validates the traceability and sustainability of alternative feedstocks, including recycled and renewable raw materials. With this certification, Infineum can now offer lower-carbon additives produced using certified circular, bio, and bio-circular feedstocks, without compromising on performance or reliability.

Why is Mass Balance important?
The mass balance approach allows us to gradually integrate more sustainable feedstocks into our production processes, providing a low cost – affordable solution that is flexible, scalable, and an independently certified pathway to lower-carbon products. This enables our customers to meet their sustainability targets faster, make credible claims, and strengthen their own commitments to climate action.
