As part of Infineum’s global Volunteering Week, colleagues in Singapore and Vado came together to organise and volunteer in clean-up initiatives in their respective communities – as part of Infineum’s aim to leave a positive impact in our surrounding communities.
These initiatives also aligned with World Environment Day, the biggest international day for the environment led by the United Nations Environment Programme.
World Environment Day 2025 calls for collective action to end plastic pollution worldwide, in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals such as climate action and the protection of seas and oceans.
In collaboration with Servizi Ambientali Territoriali (SAT), over 20 Vado colleagues contributed towards this cause by dedicating two mornings to picking up litter found along roads, river banks, and beaches near the site.
This clean-up initiative was aimed at creating a clean and more liveable environment for residents in the surrounding community.
Our Singapore colleagues organised a beach-clean up event at East Coast Park, where over 50 colleagues and their family members came together to clean up the shoreline.
With a shared sense of purpose, colleagues worked together to collect plastic bottles, food wrappers, Styrofoam boxes, and other debris from the beach. By the end of the morning, over 158.3kg of litter had been removed.
Wui Kar Soon, Singapore Plant Manager, says “We are proud to play a part this World Environment Day through a meaningful beach clean-up initiative, contributing towards global efforts to protect our precious marine ecosystems and environment. A big thank you to our colleagues for their time and dedication in this initiative, let us continue to make waves of progressive change to Singapore’s shorelines!”
