EMEA Sales Account Manager

Aurelie Grange-Chivrac
Joined Infineum in 2010

My story with Infineum started in April 2010, shortly after completing my master’s degree I was hired as a Contact Engineer at the plant in Berre, France. The engineering role taught me a lot about the manufacturing side of the business, providing me with an opportunity to work on the salicylates unit, familiarising myself with the business’ processes and components.

My next step, three years later, was taking on the position of Cost Analyst for the Berre site. It was a great opportunity and helped me to understand how a manufacturing plant is run, from both a production and financial perspective. The role exposed me to new disciplines, including corporate planning and financial accounting, skills which would open up new doors and build my foundation for future positions.

At the beginning of 2014, I had the opportunity to move into the technology side of the organisation as a Deployment Technologist. I led customer specific projects covering heavy-duty and large engine applications, as well as market general projects covering passenger car motor oils. This commercial role increased my product knowledge and helped me understand how critical it is for an organisation to be attuned to the needs of its customers.

This brings me up-to-date with my current role, the position of EMEA Sales Account Manager, which I have been performing since February 2016. My previous experiences help me every day in my latest job, which in turn helps me make the strategic decisions which support business growth for our customers. This position is an interface with many functions within Infineum, including technology, manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, marketing, and finance; providing me with a global vision of the Infineum business.

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work in different roles and face many different challenges in my time at Infineum, which has enabled me to broaden my vision and understanding of the organisation, providing rewarding job satisfaction.

Typical day at Infineum

Each day brings a new surprise thanks to the variety of tasks!

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

I love learning new things. As an Account Manager, I liaise with a range of colleagues across different departments and discuss a wide range of subjects.

What’s the best thing about working at Infineum?

For me there are two things I think are very good about working for Infineum:

  • Firstly the possibility to have your own career path and not to be forced to follow a common and typical career path. Everyone is making their own career and there are as many career paths as employees.
  • Secondly, the working conditions. Infineum is flexible and allows working from home which is key for me. My husband had to change position within his company and thus, we had to move to a place where Infineum had no office. Infineum offered me the opportunity to work from home.

Is there a certain type of employee at Infineum?

No. Everyone is welcome! And the more inclusive and diverse we are, the better we are. One of our organisations goals is to create an environment where diversity is encouraged and celebrated.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Dancing!

What piece of advice would you give to someone interested in joining Infineum?

If you like challenges and are ready to learn lots of things, then, come to Infineum.
